Overview

Poise: Load Balancing

Poise is being built as a managed load balancer for Pulse instances, with health checks, TLS termination and identity-aware access at the edge. Exact protocol coverage, certificate automation, and identity provider integrations will be confirmed at launch.

Built for

High-availability web applications Blue-green and canary deployments API gateway for microservices Secure access to internal applications

Highlights

Why Poise

These describe the design intent for Poise. Final behaviour will be confirmed at launch.

Routes around unhealthy backends

Health checks run continuously. Unhealthy backends drop out of rotation and rejoin once they pass checks again.

Terminates TLS for you

Offload TLS at the load balancer rather than per-instance. Certificate automation will be tied into Seal once both products are live.

Identity-aware access (planned)

The intent is to put SSO and access policies in front of internal services without bolting on a separate auth proxy. Final IdP support will be confirmed at launch.
