Overview

Core: Managed Databases

Core is being built as a managed database service so you stop running provisioning, patching and backups by hand. The plan is to support common open-source engines, automated backups, and private connectivity from Pulse via Lace. Engine versions, replica options and recovery windows will be confirmed at launch.

Built for

Production application databases Read-heavy workloads with replicas Session & cache stores (Redis) Analytics & reporting databases

Highlights

Why Core

These describe the design intent for Core. Final behaviour will be confirmed at launch.

Less database operations work

The goal is to take provisioning, patching and routine backups off your plate so your team can spend that time on the application.

Restore from a known point

Backups will let you restore to a backup snapshot rather than guessing the last working state. Exact recovery window and granularity will be published at launch.

Private connectivity by default

Connect to your database from Pulse over Lace, so the database does not have to listen on the public internet to be reachable.
